Overview
This educational activity aims to discuss recent clinical advances in breast oncology that have emerged from presentations at recent international meetings including ASCO, ESMO and SABCS. The activity allows for interaction between UC San Diego School of Medicine faculty and meeting attendees with the aim of implementing new standards of patient care and advancing clinical practice. Participants will gain up-to-date, practical information with immediate clinical application. This program is designed to help medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, gynecologists, and radiologists translate the data from key presentations at major international medical meetings into practice.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify clinical trial data that allows physicians to provide personalized local and systemic therapy in the management of early and late stage breast cancer of all subtypes.
  2. Identify ongoing clinical trials aimed at reducing breast cancer recurrence in early stage breast cancer and improving survival in advanced breast cancer
  3. Recognize prognostic and predictive biomarkers and how to incorporate them into clinical decision-making and practice.
