At UC San Diego Health, our rheumatology division is committed to improving patient care in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Through the generosity of the Wolfe Family, a center for lupus excellence, the UC San Diego Lupus Center, was established in fall 2023. The mission of this center is to improve patient care and education, to collaborate with other disciplines in a multidisciplinary approach to SLE care, and to facilitate ongoing efforts for collaborative research and involvement in clinical trials. With this symposium, we will have lupus specialists in various disciplines offer their expertise and educate the attendees on exciting recent updates and developments in lupus care and research.

*Spanish Translation will be available. *No CME is offered for this activity.


Symposium Objectives

  • Present current and future happenings from the UC San Diego Lupus Center in 2025.

  • Educate patients and providers on the salient aspects of lupus care, involving the effects of lupus on reproductive health, musculoskeletal involvement, and kidney disease.

  • Educate patients and the community on the connection between SLE and the microbiome.

  • Describe efforts for future research and collaborations as a part of the Lupus Center and La Jolla Institute.


General registration is free to attend, but you still need to register to save your spot.
