Advances in Multi-Disciplinary Head & Neck Cancer Care Conference

The course will offer a blend of didactic and interactive experiences highlighting state-of-the-art head and neck cancer care from evaluation and treatment to survivorship. Renowned faculty members from UC San Diego, UC San Francisco and nationally recognized invited speakers will share the most up-to-date information regarding scientific advancements and novel approaches to optimize both curative and functional outcomes in the head and neck cancer population.

1. Implement best practice in the complex, multidisciplinary delivery of care for head and neck cancer patients
2. Discuss updates in the management of oral cavity, oropharynx, and larynx cancer
3. Describe how pathology and radiology findings can be used to guide the diagnosis and management of head and neck, thyroid, and salivary cancers.
4. Evaluate the goals and techniques of head and neck reconstruction with a focus on functional outcomes
5. Incorporate novel innovations in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in patient care
6. Determine appropriate evaluations for dysphagia, voice, communication and trismus for patient with head and neck cancer
7. Identify swallowing therapy techniques appropriate to optimize swallowing/voice outcomes for patients with head and neck cancer
8. Explain the necessity of instrumental swallowing assessment in patients with head and neck cancer.

AAPA: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 13.25 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.

Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. For the purpose of relicensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (report up to 13.25 hours of credit and list "CME Category 1" as the provider number).

Pharmacists: The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing education for pharmacists coursework which meets the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and is accepted as continuing education by the Medical Board of California.

Psychologists: The California Board of Psychology recognizes and accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for license renewal. Psychologists outside of California should check with their state and local boards to ensure that ACCME accredited activities are acceptable for renewal.

American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA): This activity contributes to the CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology^TM (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0®. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org,
for a list of all MOCA 2.0 requirements.

American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 13.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn their required annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (formerly known as MOC). It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME [and Self-Assessment Examination requirements] of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Maintenance of Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABOS credit.

American Board of Pathology (ABPath): The activity has been registered to offer credit in the American Board of Pathology’s Continuing Certification program on activity materials. This Lifelong Learning (CME) activity enables the participant to earn up to 13.25.

American Board of Pediatrics (ABP): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 13.25 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

American Board of Surgery (ABS): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirement of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS): Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME  of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery’s Maintenance of Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABTS credit.

Please note that exhibit placement and promotional benefits are not guaranteed until full payment and proof of payment are received.

CANCELLATION POLICY: There are no refunds for cancellations of exhibit registrations.
