Overview

This course will focus on the multidisciplinary management of patients with cervical cancer including the latest surgical, radiation, and immunotherapy. We will also discuss the clinical trials open at UCSD for patients with all stages of cervical cancer.

Topics discussed will include:

  • Adaptive radiotherapy

  • Hybrid brachytherapy

  • Updates on the safe de-escalation of surgical care for early-stage cervical cancer

  • Refining our understanding of when minimally invasive surgery can be offered for early-stage cervical cancer

  • Exploring unanswered questions about when and whether to consider neo-adjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced cervical cancer


Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Evaluate radiation strategies for reducing toxicity and improving precision.
  2. Analyze the impact of integrated therapies on cervical cancer outcomes.
  3. Apply emerging data on multi-modal treatment approaches for early stage and locally advanced cervical cancer.
