The UC San Diego Department of Neurosciences is delighted to announce its inaugural Neurosciences Research Day, a landmark occasion in our department's history. This event aims to achieve several key objectives: offering a dedicated platform for emerging investigators to showcase their latest research projects and benefit from mentorship by senior faculty; providing crucial clinical research knowledge necessary for successful study implementation; and presenting insights from senior faculty on the breadth of neurosciences research programs. By encouraging dialogue among various research units, the event promotes the exchange of ideas and collaborative efforts aimed at advancing future research initiatives and amplifying the department's research influence.


Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe research projects clearly and concisely, highlighting potential applications and significance in neurosciences
  2. Identify investigators with shared research interests across different research units, facilitating collaborative opportunities and knowledge exchange.
  3. Describe the specific responsibilities of investigators in clinical trials and best practices for regulatory (IRB) submissions, ensuring compliance in neurosciences clinical research.
