Overview
To present cases and updates at the Body Imaging Conference throughout the year. Faculty will discuss concepts and review shared cases with fellows & residents. Occasionally, there will be lectures provided from guest speakers or faculty. New methodology, updates on QA guidelines and familiarize the trainees with new concepts. Trainee (Medical Student, Resident, Fellow) Duties: • Present and discuss cases, highlighting key images and findings. • Discuss clinical, imaging, pathophysiological, or technical issues as appropriate. • Each case presentation should be limited to 5 minutes max. Most will take less time. This will allow for more cases to be shared with less resident/fellow preparation and more faculty input. • Residents and fellows should plan to show 3 cases from the prior week. • Medical students should plan to show 1 case from the prior week, with the mentorship of a resident/fellow/attending in selecting and preparing the case, adhering to the same format and time limit as residents and fellows. • Those on the body MR rotation are expected to show MR cases. This may include interesting MR cases, follow-up of an interesting CT/US case seen on MRI, or cases which illustrate a physics principle, protocol/monitoring issue, etc. Faculty Duties: • Body faculty are expected to attend. • Every week, one faculty member will present (10-15 minutes) a current topic of interest. • Faculty will contribute to case discussions by providing input from years of experience, research, and expertise in subspecialty – information that may not yet be in textbooks. Format: • Each case should be a separate PowerPoint file, with the organ system and preferably diagnosis in the file name. • The medical record number should be placed in the notes section of the first slide. • Images should be selected and cropped to best demonstrate the relevant finding(s). • Each PowerPoint file should have TWO word slides only. One word slide will include the clinical presentation and imaging indication. The second word slide will include the diagnosis and key points. This will serve as the springboard for discussion.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Use ultrasound, computed tomography, or MRI techniques in clinical practice through hands-on application and problem-solving during CME activities.
  2. Analyze case-based content to identify best practices in utilizing body imaging techniques for improved patient care.
  3. Describe the technical aspects of body imaging in ultrasound, computed tomography, or MRI in clinical practice to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.
  4. Identify the benefits and limitations of different body imaging techniques in ultrasound, computed tomography, and MRI through active participation in Q&A sessions and case-based discussions.
