Overview

This comprehensive 2½-day multidisciplinary program will be held at the Catamaran Hotel in San Diego, California. It is designed to appeal to first time attendees and to returning participants. Expert reviews of the essentials will be augmented with selected new topics and discussions of advances and innovations.

  • Nationally and internationally recognized leaders will present didactic sessions and conduct interactive discussions.

  • Fundamentals will include in-depth reviews of basic principles, procedures, prescribing, clinical management and care of special populations.

  • Updates on selected disease indications will be supplemented by case studies and new clinical science.

  • Symposia will review plasma exchange, cell apheresis modalities, technology innovations, new indications, and program management.

  • Participants will be offered interactive small group sessions led by experienced practitioners focused on various techniques and machines used in therapeutic apheresis.

  • Conference attendees will have the opportunity to submit challenging cases for discussion during an expert panel session.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Review current clinical indications for therapeutic plasma exchange, photopheresis, lipoprotein apheresis, and other cytapheresis procedures, per ASFA guidelines.
  2. Discuss options for vascular access, anticoagulation, and prescription for the various apheresis techniques, and their associated complications.
  3. Recognize and understand important pharmacologic issues that arise with apheresis procedures, including timing of administration, drug removal, as well as impact on anticoagulation.
  4. Identify apheresis techniques in specialized populations such as pediatrics, solid organ transplant, research collections, and immune effector cell therapies (which includes CAR-T cells).
  5. Recognize recent developments in clinical trials and the future of apheresis medicine.
  6. Apply proper techniques for operating therapeutic apheresis equipment during hands-on sessions to ensure accurate procedure setup and patient safety.

The 2026 Apheresis Conference syllabus will be available electronically. Products must be relevant to the program content. UC San Diego Continuing Professional Development (CPD) reserves the right to deny any application that does not meet this requirement.

UC San Diego CPD agrees to provide exhibit space for the above-listed exhibitor for the course presented on the dates and location designated above. UC San Diego CPD will acknowledge exhibitor support in course materials.

The exhibitor acknowledges that conducting marketing or promotional activities in any conference area except for their assigned exhibit space is prohibited. Commercial interests may not engage in sales, promotional activities, or distribute product-specific advertisements while in the designated location of the CPD activity. CPD activity space includes, but is not limited to, lecture halls, break out rooms, and laboratory areas.

UC San Diego Continuing Professional Development Exhibitor Policy

Exhibitors and UC San Diego Continuing Professional Development agree to abide by the ACCME Standard for Integrity and Independence in Accredited CE and the UC Health Care Vendor Relations Policy. Any actions that are not in accordance with the above stated policies may result in the removal of the exhibit company and its representatives from the conference site, in which case no refund of exhibit fees will be allowed.

Payment Deadline & Late Fee Policy
Exhibitor payment is due in full by the deadline listed on program materials (webpage and exhibitor agreement form). A 
$500 late fee will apply to any payments received after the posted deadline.

To avoid a late fee and ensure participation, 
proof of payment (such as a check copy, electronic payment confirmation, or remittance advice) must be submitted by the deadline.
Please note that exhibit placement and promotional benefits are not guaranteed until full payment and proof of payment are received.

For payments made via ACH or bank transfer, please coordinate with Marinel Brual at [email protected] to initiate the transaction.

Kindly provide a copy of your transfer details along with the processing date so we can accurately track and confirm your payment.

CANCELLATION POLICY: There are no refunds for cancellation of exhibit.
