Overview

"AWE WEEK 2026" is a 4-day hybrid in-person and virtual educational conference. Videos from the hands-on workshop will be posted on the AWE website for participants to review. 4 sessions will be available for the course participants, with lectures by the master endoscopists and live Q&A sessions to highlight innovative endoscopic techniques. There will be expert presentations of cases from the AWE course. Updates on recent advances in endoscopy will be covered in a variety of traditional formats, including lectures, panel discussions, case reviews, and Q&A during the in-person portion of the event. The program will present balanced clinical approaches to the management of complex problems in endoscopy.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of advanced endoscopic techniques
  2. Describe recent innovations in the endoscopic management of esophageal disease.
  3. Describe the role of endoscopy in the prevention, surveillance, and early detection of diseases ranging from GERD to gastrointestinal cancer.
  4. Summarize current evidence supporting emerging endoscopic therapies for GERD.
  5. Evaluate the clinical applications, benefits, and limitations of emerging endoscopic ultrasound techniques in endohepatology.
  6. Apply evidence-based criteria to the selection and use of lumen-apposing metal stents for complex gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary interventions.
  7. Describe the role of endoscopic interventions in the management of malignant gastrointestinal obstruction.
  8. Demonstrate appropriate use of fluoroscopy during ERCP with attention to radiation safety and procedural efficiency.
  9. Utilize advanced cannulation techniques for ERCP
  10. Differentiate clinical scenarios in which single-use duodenoscopes may be preferred for high-risk patients.
  11. Assess advances in cholangioscopy
  12. Distinguish between evolving biliary metal stent designs and their appropriate clinical applications.
  13. Identify novel approaches to endoscopic mucosal resection and submucosal dissection
  14. Identify suitable endoscopic methods for achieving gastrointestinal tissue closure in different clinical contexts.
  15. Explain the principles and applications of endoscopic suturing in gastrointestinal procedures.
  16. Explain management of anticoagulation prior to routine endoscopic procedures
  17. Discuss strategies for endoscopic management of metabolic diseases
